Police blotter

Newton Police Department

• Katie E. Rodewald, 32, of Newton, was charged with forgery for an incident at 12:20 p.m. Feb. 16 when police were called to Taco John’s in reference to a forged check. The assistant manager told police a female presented a check in the amount of $47.85 and stated her name was Lily. The assistant manager became suspicious because she recognized the female as being Katie Rodewald. Rodewald had written the check under the name of two deceased people. Rodewald is also accused of forging checks at Goodwill and O’Reilly’s. Rodewald was arrested Wednesday and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
