Newton Police Department

• Katie E. Rodewald, 32, of Newton, was arrested at 8:21 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of North Fourth Avenue East. Rodewald was recognized as having an active warrant for forgery. Rodewald was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Brett A. Rippey, 48, of Newton, was arrested at 5 p.m. Friday at 407 E. 21st St. S., on a warrant for fifth-degree theft. Rippey was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Candice F. McDonald, 33, of Newton, was arrested at 7 a.m. on Saturday when police recognized the driver to have a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia in the 1100 block of East 19th Street North. McDonald was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Stephanie L. Yoakum, 43, of Newton, was arrested at 11 p.m. Friday in the Hy-Vee parking lot, on a warrant for contempt of court. Yoakum was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Matthew K. Lisk, 24, of Newton, was cited for driving with a revoked license at 10:10 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of West Fourth Street North. Lisk was released and issued a citation to appear in court.

• Kimberly R. Winchell, 26, of Altoona, was cited for driving with a revoked license at 6:19 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of East Eighth Street North. Winchell was released and issued a citation to appear in court.

• Nicole J. Dekonning, 35, of Newton, was issued a citation for driving while license under suspension at 11:30 p.m. in the 700 block of First Avenue East. Dekonning was released and issued a citation to appear in court.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Office

• Sandra L. Younger, 56, of Kellogg, was charged with interference with official acts, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of contraband in correctional institute and Anthony R. Strange, of Newton, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 5 p.m. March 17. A deputy found a smoking pipe that was used to smoke methamphetamine in Younger’s vehicle. While Younger was being arrested and put into the patrol vehicle, she rolled down the window of the vehicle and delivered a message to Strange. Strange reached inside the vehicle and started to walk away. Strange told a deputy that he was only throwing away trash. Inside the bag was a clear pipe, later identified to belong to Younger and was used for methamphetamine. When Younger arrived to the Jasper County Jail, Younger was searched and a loose round pill was found, later identified as Oxycodone. A deputy also found a needle with a grainy, white substance on the cap. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine. Strange was also arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Mary J. Bunse, 50, of Newton, was charged with violation of no contact order at 8 p.m. March 17 after she told officials she sent a total of 10 text messages to the victim. Bunse still had the messages on her cell phone. Bunse was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Larry A. Iveson, 53, of Kellogg, was charged with consumption of alcohol in public place at 3:39 p.m. Sunday after Iveson was called in at the Kellogg County Store as an intoxicated male driving an older white van. Iveson was driving slow and slurring his words and smelled of alcohol. Iveson was later located on the sidewalk outside of R&J’s bar and grill. Iveson denied driving the van. Iveson said he had a buzz and had been drinking inside the bar. A breath test of Iveson gave a result of .129. Iveson was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• David K. Crady, 53, of Newton, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance at 5:17 p.m. March 17 after Crady’s vehicle was being searched. Crady was arrested for an open container. In Crady’s pocket was a scale, which was later discovered to be in possession of methamphetamine. Crady was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
