CMB grapplers win first dual of season

COON RAPIDS — The Collins-Maxwell/Baxter wrestling team picked its first and only dual win of the season Thursday when the Raiders took down Griswold in a non-conference quadrangular.

Seniors Archer McFadden (285) and Evan Bianchi (160) both went 3-0 on the night, and that helped the Raiders defeat Griswold 33-18. CMB lost 49-18 to Treynor and 46-21 to host Coon Rapids-Bayard.

McFadden won one match by fall, one by forfeit and completed the undefeated night with a 1-0 win over CR-B’s Clayton Heck. McFadden is now 21-6 on the season.

Bianchi picked up two forfeits and won his third match by fall to improve to 18-7 on the season.

Against Griswold, CMB (1-18) took five forfeits and there was five double forfeits. The only win on the mat for the Raiders came at 195 where junior Cody Galbraith won 10-6. Galbraith went 2-1 on the night.

In the loss to Treynor, CMB won its three matches by fall. McFadden, Bianchi and Tate Ewing got those wins.

Three of the four wins against CR-B were by forfeit.
