Newton Police Department

Brian A. Callison, 41, of Newton, was charged with trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance and unlawful possession of prescription drugs when police were called at 2 p.m. Jan. 18 to East 12th Street North in reference to criminal trespass at a residence. Callison was allegedly seen on the property earlier that day. Officials had told Callison Jan. 14 to not return to the property. Callison told police he was on the property at the victim's request. During Callison's arrest, police found a metal pipe with residue, a clear plastic bag with a green leafy substance inside and a single white and blue pill, which was determined to be Ziprasidone Hydrochloride, a prescription only drug. Callison was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Ryan M. Tool, 22, of Altoona, was charged with possession of controlled substance, marijuana, and cited with driving while license under suspension after police pulled Tool over at 1:04 a.m. Jan. 20 in the block of East 19th Street North for driving while license revoked. Police were placing Tool under arrest and found a clear plastic bag with a green leafy substance in Tool’s jeans pocket. The substance tested positive for marijuana. Tool was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Joshua J. McFarland, 30, of Albion, was charged with fifth-degree theft after police were called at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 21 to Panda Garden in reference to someone who would not pay for his meal. McFarland told police he had dinner with a woman, she left, and he didn’t have money to pay. McFarland was offered a ride to his residence to collect money but he turned it down. The bill was $23.93. McFarland was released and issued a citation to appear in court.

• Richard W. Mciver, 77, of Kellogg, and Kristen M. Miller, 33, of Newton, were charged with fifth-degree theft and Miller was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police were called at 9:54 p.m. Jan. 21 to Hy-Vee in reference to suspicious persons. Store employees told police that Miller paid for some items but failed to pay for a knit head wrap, Reese’s peanut butter cups and razors that were inside her purse while in the store. The items were valued at $17. Mciver and Miller were both seen eating the peanut butter cups from Miller’s purse. While police were arresting Miller they found two syringes inside of Miller’s purse. Miller and Mciver were arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
