The Jasper County Historical Museum will host its Heritage Day event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 1700 S. 15th Ave. W. in Newton.
The celebration will feature musical entertainment, food, portrayals of early citizens, games and more. The steam engine will also be shut down for the winter but fired up again next summer for the Fourth of July parade.
