Timothy G. Anderson

Timothy Glenn Anderson, 67, of Newton, passed from this life Thursday evening, Aug. 25, 2016, at Unity Point Health-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Tim was born Sept. 28, 1948, in Newton, the son of Carl R.W. Anderson and Helen “Mickey” Anderson. He graduated from the Newton Senior High, Class of 1966. He was united in marriage with Jill D. Lamb on Aug. 15, 1994, in Newton, and was employed by the Maytag Company in Newton, retiring as a forklift driver. Tim enjoyed his family, trains, comic books and collecting antiques. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Tim is survived by his wife Jill; his daughter, Kelly Anderson; a brother, Alex P. (Barb) Anderson; his mother-in-law Marilyn Lamb; several nieces and nephews, including Aaron Anderson; his uncles, aunts and cousins; and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a niece, Stephanie Anderson; and his father-in-law, Larry Lamb.

A time of remembrance and celebration of life service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. A visitation will be an hour prior to the service and with a coffee time following the service. Burial will be in the Center Friend Cemetery, rural Newton, at a later date.
