• Larry D. Karlzen, 44, of Monroe, is charged with driving while barred after authorities pulled him over at 12:36 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of First Avenue East. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Jacob S. Henscheid, 31, of Newton, is charged with public intoxication after authorities were called at 4:04 a.m. Tuesday to 2305 E. 19th St. N. Officers were called about a man sleeping in an enclosed porch. Officers found Henscheid who was confused, smelled of alcohol and had slow, slurred speech. He admitted to drinking. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Darin A. Bieberle, 48, of Newton, is charged with sex offender — registration violation after authorities were called at 4:30 p.m. Friday to 1605 W. 19th St. S. Officers were called about Bieberle failing to register as a sex offender within five days of moving. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Hollie D. Hoffarth, 43, of Ventura, is charged with possession of contraband in a correctional institute, possession of controlled substance, interference with official acts and unlawful possession of prescription drug after authorities were called at 2:15 a.m. Monday to 2300 Law Center Drive. Officers were called about a suspicious vehicle and found Hoffarth. Officers asked her if she had any items on her that would be considered contraband before entering the Jasper County Jail. She said she didn’t. Officers found a baggie with methamphetamine in it on her body along with two pills. Officers found additional narcotics in her vehicle. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Douglas D. Wilson, 54, of Clear Lake, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after authorities pulled him over at 11:32 p.m. Sunday in the 830 block of Highway 224 North. Officers found used and loaded syringe along with metal pipe in the vehicle. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
