Tigerhawk baseball drops two in SICL play

MARENGO — Four errors plagued the Colfax-Mingo baseball team Friday during a 6-4 loss to Iowa Valley in South Iowa Cedar League play.

The Tigerhawks had eight hits in the game and sophomore Alex Lewis surrendered four hits and struck out seven, but the miscues were too much to overcome.

Senior Jacob Buehrer and junior Adam Teed had two hits each at the plate.

Colfax-Mingo has not lost two straight since winning three in a row. The Tigerhawks are 10-7 overall and 7-5 in SICL play.

The Tigerhawks play at 6 p.m. Monday in Sully. Lynnville-Sully comes into the game with a 10-1 conference record.

COLFAX — The Tigerhawks managed just three hits in the game against Jacob Wickenkamp, who struck out four and walked on the mound and had two hits, one run and two steals offensively.

Freshman Zarek Hill struck out eight. He took the loss after allowing three runs on eight hits.

Hill had one of the team’s two hits. Brady Berkey had the other hit.
