Local students receive degrees at ISU commencement

AMES — At Iowa State University’s spring commencement ceremonies, 4,595 students received degrees. Iowa State awarded 3,818 undergraduate degrees, 496 master’s degrees, 141 veterinary medicine degrees and 140 doctor of philosophy degrees.

Kaitlyn Brown, of Kellogg, received a bachelor of fine arts in interior design.

Graduates from Newton include: Tena Alcini received a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree in liberal studies and was Cum Laude; Jennifer Berger received a Bachelor of Science degree in child, adult and family services and was Magna Cum Laude; Logan Bird received a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural studies; Brianna Buch received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education; Kyla Cazett received a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science; Cal Fisher received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering and was Cum Laude; Seth George received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology; Seth George received a Bachelor of Science degree in software engineering; Nathan Lenz received a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural studies; Brooke Meyer received a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics (H SCI); Dustin Schelling received a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology and health; Sandra Schwarz received a Master of Science degree in education; Sarah Sprouse received a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering and was Magna Cum Laude; and Brianna Vest received a Bachelor of Science degree in horticulture.

Graduates from Baxter include: John Deutsch received a Master of Science degree in agricultural and biosystems engineering; Jennifer Hurley received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design; Makayla Johnston received a Bachelor of Science in agricultural and life sciences education; and Lee Robinson received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering.

Graduates from Colfax include: Autumn McGill received a Bachelor of Science degree in event management, Kathryn Stuva received a Bachelor of Science degree in child, adult and family services, Katelyn Van Wyk received a Bachelor of Science degree in child, adult and family services and Christian Wing received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering.

Graduates from Mingo include: Jenna Baldwin received Bachelor of Science degrees in agricultural and life sciences education; and public service and administration in agriculture; Hannah Overton received a Bachelor of Science degree in anthropology.

Graduates from Monroe include: Brandon Reeve received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing, Taylor Rydberg received a Bachelor of Science degree in financial counseling and planning and Mia Thomas received a Bachelor of Science degree in apparel, merchandising and design.

Graduates from Prairie City include: Breanna Branderhorst received a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural and life sciences education and was Cum Laude and Macey Walke received a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science.
