The Dakota Access Pipeline project has been a long time coming, but the benefits of the pipeline were worth waiting for. Now with the last approval from the Iowa Utilities Board, my fellow union brothers and sisters and I can begin the work of constructing this important piece of national, regional and state infrastructure. I am convinced that the citizens of Iowa will now see the economic benefits that we have spoken about for over a year and a half. Thank you to board member Wagner and board member Jacobs for your votes to allow construction to begin as soon as possible in our state. Your leadership reflects the kind of energy policy I hope to see more of in Iowa.
