Gwen B. Churchill, 85, of Grinnell, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at her home. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 13 at the Grinnell Friends Church. Interment will be at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. Visitation will begin at noon Sunday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, with the family present to greet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Memorials may be designated to the Gwen Churchill Memorial Fund and mailed in care of the Smith Funeral Home, P.O. Gwen is survived by her daughter, Linda Birkenholtz of Monroe; twin sons, Dennis and Daniel of Grinnell; three grandchildren, Sara (Frank) Hawk of St. Charles, Chad Birkenholtz and Matt (Jessica) Birkenholtz of Monroe; seven great-grandchildren, Ira, Lincoln and Presley Hawk and Charlize, Olivia, Baili and Bentli Birkenholtz; and her brother, Earl (Wilma) Hawkins of Newton.
