Tigerhawk baseball gets first win of the season

COLFAX — Junior Adam Teed had two hits at the plate and allowed two earned runs on the mound during Colfax-Mingo’s 9-7 win over HLV in South Iowa Cedar League play Wednesday night.

Teed threw the first five innings in the game, allowing four hits while walking five and striking out one. Sophomore Misha Seebeck tossed the final two innings. He surrendered four hits, four walks and two runs while fanning four.

The Tigerhawks (1-1 overall, 1-1 in the SICL) had to rally for the win. They scored one run in the first three innings before plating two in the fourth, five in the fifth and another in the sixth.

Senior Jacob Buehrer had two doubles and scored two runs at the plate, while Jarod Nichols reached base four times and scored twice. Nichols doubled and walked three times.

Colfax-Mingo plays at 6 p.m. Friday at BGM.
