PCM, CMB boys suffer season-ending losses

ADEL — Daniel Finnegan scored a pair of goals and Noah Bardwell added a goal and an assist for Class 2A No. 12 ADM during a 5-0 loss to Prairie City-Monroe in the opening round of the 2A Substate 6 tournament Monday.

PCM took just one shot on goal in the loss. The Mustangs end their season at 4-10.

ADM, which next faces No. 5 Dallas Center-Grimes, won its second straight to improve to 15-4 on the year.

South Tama County 7, CMB 1

TAMA — South Tama County evened its record at 9-9 and kept CMB’s long losing streak alive during a 7-1 win 2A Substate 7 opening-round action Monday.

The Raiders ended the season with nine straight losses and were shut out seven times in those games.

The Raiders lost 12-0 to Marshalltown on Thursday.

Before that, they lost 7-2 to Chariton on May 17.

Josh Bruntz and Ryan Sabastiano each scored a goal in that match, while Drake Ross had an assist and Brendyn Padget finished with 10 saves.

PCM ends regular season with win in shootout

MONROE — Chase Kuecker sealed the win against North Polk with a game-winning goal in a shootout as the Mustangs won for the fourth time this season on Friday.

Misha Seebeck also scored for PCM (4-8) in the shootout. The win for PCM ended a four-match losing streak. North Polk (4-14) lost its seventh straight.

Mason Burkman had three saves for the Mustangs in the win.
