BAXTER — The Collins-Maxwell/Baxter boys track team started pulling varsity guys out of events late in the Raiders home coed meet Thursday night.

That’s because the lead had grown to more than 80 points.

The Raiders piled up double points in eight events, collected seven wins and cruised past the competition in winning a third consecutive team title. CMB scored 210 points, while BGM was next with 151 and Prairie City-Monroe was third with 134.

Colfax-Mingo sent parts of its team to two different locations. The Tigerhawks who were at CMB scored 34 points in fourth.

Three of the Raiders’ seven wins came from senior Brady Stover. He won the 100-meter dash, 110 hurdles and long jump. He also had the best time in the 400 hurdles but was disqualified after winning easily.

Noah Rhoades claimed his first win of the season as he crossed the finish line first in the 1,600, and senior Hunter Gunderson won the high jump. The Raiders also grabbed gold medals in the shuttle hurdle relay and 4x800 relay.

PCM got individual wins from junior Chris Ellens in the 3,200 and senior Gunnar Davis in the shot put. The distance medley also collected a gold medal.
