• The Newton Rotary Club will meet at noon Tuesday at the Newton DMACC banquet room. The program will be presented by Miranda Kulis of the Goodwill Career Connection Center. • Jasper County Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at USDA Service Center, 709 First Ave. W. in Newton.

• Meet the Barnstormers will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Montana Mikes, 1400 W. 18th St. S. in Newton. Join the Iowa Barnstormers and help raise money for the Newton Police Department K-9 unit. Players and coaching staff will be in attendance and 25 percent of all sales will be donated to the cause.

• Discover Hope, a faith-based addiction support group, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at 219 N. Second Ave. W., in Newton.

• Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at noon Wednesday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 223 E. Fourth St. N. in Newton.

• Newton High School Class of 1961 will meet at noon Wednesday at Okoboji Grill in Newton. Class members and guests will meet for lunch and conversation. All class members and guest are invited to attend. The upcoming class reunion plans will be discussed.

• Brown Bag Lunch will begin at noon Wednesday at Jasper County Historical Museum in Newton. “Newton’s First and Worst Cyclone” was May 21, 1918, and literally ripped upper floors from factories and houses and barely missed the west side of the square. This event is free.
