• Hector D. Bonilla, 32, of Newton, is charged with third-degree harassment after authorities were called at 12:03 a.m. on Jan. 19 to Heritage Manor. Officers were notified of a man calling and harassing those working and looking for an employee who was not there. He called staff members derogatory names and after being told by officers to stop, he continued calling. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• A 16-year-old juvenile is charged with possession of controlled substance after authorities were called at 2:34 p.m. Jan. 20 to Basic and Beyond School. Officers spoke with the principal and superintendent who were told by a custodian he smelled marijuana coming from a bathroom. Two students were in the bathroom and the juvenile charged admitted to smoking marijuana but said he did not have any. When being searched officers found a bag of marijuana on him. He was cited and released to appear.

• Ashley M. Goettsch, 26, of Monroe, is charged with driving while license under suspension after authorities pulled her over at 3:12 a.m. Friday at the intersection of South 12th Avenue West and Highway 14 South. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Jeremiah J. Eilander, 36, of Newton, is charged with operating while under the influence, two counts of possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license under suspension after authorities pulled him over at 11:28 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of First Avenue East. After approaching the vehicle, officers noticed Eilander had very slow, deliberate movements, bloodshot eyes and droopy eyelids. He admitted to smoking marijuana and while searching the vehicles officers found a glass containing marijuana, a marijuana pipe, liquid methamphetamine and a syringe. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Samantha K. Koenigsdorf, 19, of Newton, is charged with fifth-degree theft after authorities were called at 5:18 p.m. Jan. 21 to Walmart. Officers were called about a theft and told that Koenigsdorf had placed products in her purse. The item stolen included a Star Wars Lego set, condoms, DVDs and lip liner totaling $84.63. She was cited and released to appear.
