In regard to the street lights near the Newton Plaza Apartments, I whole heartedly disagree with their removal. The lights provide beauty, security and are consistent with other lights on North Fourth Avenue. Surely the council can find other ways to pay the light bill. Why not make the lights into solar or LED, which would save the $700 bill? What is the cost of removal of the lights and why not sell them to interested citizens? The council needs to reconsider the issue to the public.
