Monday morning collision

A Dodge van, driven by Julie A. Williams of Newton, ran a stop sign while westbound on South Eighth Avenue East at about 10:45 a.m. Monday, and was struck by a Toyota Camry, which was northbound on East 12th Street South, according to Newton police. The driver of the Camry, Amanda C. Bristow of Pella, was taken to Skiff Medical Center for evaluation after complaining of rib pain. The Newton Police Department said a citation is pending.
