Perry campaign will have one paid staffer in Iowa

DES MOINES — Rick Perry’s cash-strapped presidential campaign is set to keep going in Iowa with just one paid staffer and some volunteers.

The former Texas governor’s senior Iowa strategist, Robert Haus, says the Republican campaign will have one paid operative for now. Haus will stay on in an unpaid capacity. Perry’s campaign has struggled with sluggish fundraising. Last week, Perry’s state chairman, Sam Clovis, left to work for Donald Trump.
