• Larry D. Karlzen, 43, of Grinnell, is charged with driving while license suspended after authorities pulled him over in the 1400 block of Iowa Speedway Drive at 11:02 p.m. Tuesday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Ryan M. Tool, 21, of Newton, is charged with three counts of unauthorized use of credit card under $1,000 after authorities were called to Walmart at 5:48 p.m. Aug. 11. Officers were called about two credit cards that were stolen from a purse. Officers found the cards were used at Walmart on three occasions for $49.04, $361.10 and $128. Videos along with receipts and signatures of the transactions were obtained with Tool’s name on them. Officers also had video footage of Tool spending $25 at Murphy Oil. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Kelsi A. McDaniels, 19, of Newton, is charged with fifth-degree theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple misdemeanor interference with official acts after authorities were called to Walmart at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday. Officers spoke with an employee who said a woman, identified as McDaniels, took socks and underwear, removed them from the packages and put them in her purse. She then purchased another item and left the store. She admitted to taking the items and when searching her purse officers also found a marijuana pipe and an eyebrow shaper kit, which she had also taken. The total value of the items was $21.83. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
