DAVENPORT — Authorities in eastern Iowa say a tree company worker has died after being pulled into a wood-chipping machine.
Police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene in southeast Davenport a little after 3 p.m. Wednesday. Police Capt. Brent Briggs said officers soon determined that the worker had died. Biggs says police don’t suspect a crime was involved in the person’s death. The accident cause is being investigated.
