Sheriff’s Office

• Joseph S. Kain, 36, of Prairie City, is charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after authorities pulled over a vehicle traveling in in the 5000 block of Highway 117 South at 12:40 a.m. May 2. Officers smelled marijuana and found a bag with a marijuana pipe and two plastic bags both smelling of marijuana. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Julie A. Kendall, 35, of Des Moines, is charged with operating while under the influence after authorities pulled her over in the 3600 block of Highway 117 South at 12:01 a.m. May 2. Kendall had blood shot, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol. She admitted to drinking and had a BAC over the legal limit. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Lloyd A. Hannagan, 42, of Reasnor, is charged with driving while license denied after authorities pulled him over at the intersection of West Street and North Street in Reasnor at 7:46 p.m. May 3. Hannagan was driving a lawn mower pulling a wagon with his son in it. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Chase M. Strovers, 18, of Kellogg, is charged with possession of controlled substance and trespassing after authorities were called to the 8900 block of North 27th Avenue East in Kellogg at 2:53 p.m. Wednesday. Strovers was on private property that he did not have permission to be on and was smoking marijuana. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Jacob J. Huizenga, 19, of Newton, is charged with possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing after authorities were called to the 8900 block of North 27th Avenue East in Kellogg at 2:53 p.m. Wednesday. Huizenga was on private property that he did not have permission to be on and was smoking marijuana along with having a pipe used to smoke marijuana. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Conlan J. Green, 21, of West Des Moines, is charged with operating while under the influence after authorities were called to the 5200 block of Highway F48 West at 11:02 p.m. May 2. Green was involved in an accident and officers found an open bottle of liquor in the vehicle. Emergency medical staff on scene said they could smell alcohol on Green and that he had blood shot, watery eyes. He had a BAC of .125. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Austin M. Lazella, 27, of Monroe, is charged with operating while under the influence after authorities pulled him over in the 4000 block of Highway 14 at 2:20 a.m. Sunday. Officers observed Lazella with blood shot, watery eyes and he smelled strongly of alcohol. He admitted to having two beers and had a BAC of .148. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Craynes K. McGinley, 25, of Newton, was arrested on eight warrants for felony forgery and violation of probation after he turned himself in at the Newton Police Department at 10 p.m. Monday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• William R. Floyd, 21, of Newton, was arrested on a Jasper County warrant for probation violation after authorities were called to Emerson Hough school at 9:06 p.m. Sunday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Nathanial J. Sjaardema, 26, of Reasnor, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation after authorities were called to 812 N. Eighth Ave. E. at 12:27 a.m. Monday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
