COUNCIL BLUFFS — Council Bluffs police charged a 39-year-old man with attempted murder after stopping his vehicle and finding him bleeding from stab wounds. Police charged David Leroy McKee, who is being treated at an Omaha hospital. The incident began Sunday after police received a report a man threatened his estranged wife and another woman. By the time officers arrived one of the woman said he entered the home and tried to choke her. She grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him.
Her injuries were minor and that the other woman wasn’t hurt.
After stopping McKee, he was treated and charged with attempted murder, first-degree burglary and felony domestic abuse assault.
Online court records didn’t indicate if McKee had a lawyer who could answer questions about the matter.
