MONROE — The effort was good and the execution was a little better, but the Prairie City-Monroe boys’ soccer team still dropped to 0-4 on the year.
The Mustangs doubled their scoring output and rallied from a two-goal halftime deficit, but still fell at home to Chariton, 3-2.
Drew Johnson and Zac Read scored second-half goals for PCM, which scored two goals total in the first three matches of the season.
The Mustangs (0-4) return to their home pitch at 5:30 p.m. Thursday against Nevada.
