Newton Police Department
• Michael P. Hedrick, 46, of Newton, is charged with operating while under the influence after authorities pulled him over on Interstate 80 at 1 a.m. Tuesday. Officers were called on a vehicle that was driving recklessly on the interstate and found Hedrick and were eventually able to get behind him and pull him over. His eyes were blood shot and watery and his speech was slow and slurred. He had a BAC of .206. He was cited and released to appear.
