Raiders experience deja vu against South Hardin

URBANDALE — For the second season in a row, the South Hardin boys’ basketball team has ended Collins-Maxwell/Baxter’s season. And both times it was by a single point.

This time around, the Tigers rallied from a second-half deficit and made two more free throws than the Raiders in a 61-60 win at Des Moines Christian High School.

CMB (10-12) made 14-of-23 from the line, while South Hardin was 16-of-23. Last year, CMB lost 56-55 and was 11-of-24 from the line.

Four players scored in double figures for CMB, led by Bryce Kemp’s 26 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. Seth Balke had 10 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals, while Tommy Galloway scored 11 and Brady Stover chipped in 10.

David Shindelar had 17 points to lead the Tigers, who have won three straight and seven of eight. Eric Mulder scored 15 points and Glendon Mesch added 13 points and eight boards.

The Raiders led 17-15 after one and 46-42 after three quarters. CMB lost three of its last four games.
