Carolyn E. Beal

Carolyn E. Beal, 76, of Newton, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 18 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials in Carolyn’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Carolyn, the daughter of Luther and Bonnie (Parker) Young, was born July 18, 1938, in Indianola. On Aug. 8, 1970, she was united in marriage with Ron Beal in Collins. They lived in Nevada for a short time before making their home in Newton. Carolyn was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Newton VFW Post 1655 and donated to the Wounded Warriors program.

Those left to honor Carolyn’s memory are her husband, Ron Beal of Newton; children, Denny (Rhonda) Beal of Newton and Karen Owen of Newton; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her siblings, Bill (Sharon) Young of Indianola, Gary (Mary) Young of Indianola, Frank (Martha) Young of Hernado, Miss., Candy Young Beyers of Indianola, and Beverly (Francis) Hendrickson of Indianola; and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gerald Dean Owen; great-grandson Gauge Anderson; sister Betty Gossik; and brother Paul Young.
