Quick start not enough for Raiders

NEVADA — A strong first quarter by the Collins-Maxwell/Baxter boys' basketball team went for naught Tuesday night.

Bryce Kemp and Hunter Gunderson each scored 11 points for the Raiders (0-1, 0-1), while Seth Balke added 10.

Cole Gidel had 24 points, five steals and four assists to lead Nevada (1-0, 1-0).

A.J. Strottman also had nine points and seven rebounds, while Matt Chitty added nine points and 11 boards for the hosts.

Brady Stover and Patrick Girard had eight and seven points, respectively, for the Raiders.

CMB will try to get Its first win of the season at home Friday against Greene County.
