ROCKWELL — A northern Iowa man has been arrested after police say he drove drunk with his child in the car. Rockwell police say an officer pulled over 22-year-old Benito Hernandez Saturday night in rural Cerro Gordo County after a report that the car was being driven recklessly. Hernandez, of Hampton, is accused of driving intoxicated while his 3-year-old child was in the car.
He faces multiple charges including child endangerment, operating while intoxicated, reckless driving and failure to secure a child in a restraint device.
Hernandez was taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail. Records indicate he was later released. Court records do not list an attorney.
