Jasper County Sheriff assists in Pella drug arrest

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office assisted in a seizure of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia including more than 5 grams of methamphetamine from Roger N. Byers early Thursday morning in Pella.

Byers is charged with manufacturing more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, conspiracy to manufacture more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, possession of precursor with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine pseudoephedrine and possession of a precursor with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine lithium. He was taken to the Marion County Jail.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office along with the Newton Police Department are participating agencies in the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force that is based in Des Moines.
