The children prepare to board their flight at Grace International Airport for Grace Church's vacation bible school, Mission Explorers.

All aboard at Grace International Airport for Grace Church’s vacation bible school, mission Explorers.

The three-day event starts Tuesday at Grace Church, 1620 N. 11th Ave. E. and will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The focus will be on mission trips that take place in other countries. There will be a pretend airport and flights to several countries to experience missions in exciting and interesting ways. The hope is to teach children the importance of missions and the responsibilities mission participants have to the area they are serving.

“It is hoped we will open their hearts to other’s needs. We want them to see there is more going on in our world besides what we see on the television,” said Linda Gauch, VBS organizer. “They will hear exciting stories of how God is at work. They will also learn who, what and where missionaries serve and how to be one right where they live.”

Registration begins at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29. Registration is encouraged but not mandatory. Forms are available at the church.
