To the editor:
In response to your front page article on police officer shooting dog: 1) Officer responds to a dog running loose call, 2) Dog is a pit bull and attacks officer and 3) Officer protects himself by shooting dog:
Where were the owners? Picture is nice, but these dogs are also known to kill babies in the house hold. We supposedly have ordinances against these dogs running loose. I am a proponent of JCARL and what they do. I am a cat person and my cats are only outside in a carrier when going to vet.
Officer was justified in what he did. Owners of these animals need to take the responsibility for their pets.
