Newton Police Department

• Dorothy M. Kemboi, 28, of Newton was charged with driving while license barred after authorities stopped her at 5:16 a.m. Thursday on Highway 14 for speeding and determined her license had been barred. She was transported to the Jasper County Jail.

• Damion S. Marsh, 29, of Newton was charged with child endangerment after authorities responded to a report at 11:23 a.m. June 13 of two children possibly swallowing pills at a residence in the 900 block of North Sixth Avenue East. Marsh stated he kept his Buspar anxiety pills inside an improper container and found several chewed up pills that were spit out in the bathroom sink. The children were transported to Skiff Medical Center for treatment. Marsh was charged and released to appear in court.

• Joshua W. Schippers, 35, of Newton was charged with interference with official acts after authorities responded to a complaint at 11:38 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of East 12th Street North. He allegedly ran from officers and was transported to the Jasper County Jail.

• David D. Wilson, 34, of Newton was charged with serious domestic assault after authorities were dispatched at 3:16 a.m. Thursday to 610 E. Fourth St. N. in reference to a domestic situation. He was charged for allegedly assaulting a female and transported to the Jasper County Jail.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
