NEWTON — Newton Senior High School will hold its third annual football kicking camp on Saturday, June 21.
This camp is three hours long, beginning at 9 a.m., at H.A. Lynn Stadium.
The camp is designed to introduce the kicking phase of the game of football to young players. Placekicking, punting and kickoffs will be covered.
Athletes will be taught by members of the Newton Senior High School varsity football staff, and kicking specialists from University of Northern Iowa. This includes Logan Bieghler, a first team all-state punter from Southeast Polk and the current punter for the Panther, and, Newton native Matt Easley, who is a kick-off specialist and placekicker for University of Northern Iowa. Easley was an all-state place kicker for the Newton Cardinals in 2011.
Applications are being accepted and are available at the high school for athletes that are entering the 5th grade through senior high.
