Police arrest 6 in drug investigation

DES MOINES (AP) — Des Moines police say at least six people have been arrested in connection to an investigation into the sale of synthetic marijuana. Authorities say the people were taken into custody Tuesday morning following the completion of several simultaneous search warrants at stores and homes.

The Des Moines Police Narcotics unit has been investigating several locations they believe were involved in the selling of synthetic marijuana. Authorities say they were recording an increase of people suffering symptoms after smoking or ingesting the substances.

Police expect more people will be arrested in connection to the case. Those in custody face several charges, including possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.
