Newton’s JV held a nine-point halftime advantage, 25-16. DCG fought back with some sharp shooting from long range to pull even with the Cardinals at 45-all. Jake Bennett sunk the game-winning free throw with 10 seconds to go, giving Newton the win.

Devin Shores led the JV with 14 points, followed by Jwan Roush’s 13. Zakk Weatherly pulled in nine rebounds to lead the team.
