To the editor:
The Jasper County Fair has a long-standing tradition of Family Fun and Education. Over the years we have taken great pride in providing a venue and area for our county families to gather, compete, entertain and be entertained.
In keeping with that mission and tradition we are adding to our fairgrounds facilities. This year a committee has been formed to create a playground area for the youngest of our fairgoers.
We have the concept, the plan, and the space to get this started but we are looking for partners from the Jasper County Business Community to help us bring this project to completion. As a member of that community we ask you to become one of those partners.
In order to complete this project we need to raise approximately $12,000 to build the playground, fence it in for security, provide resting areas for other family members and friends, and shade for all to enjoy during our hot summer fairtime. Would you please join us in this venture with a tax deductible sponsorship directed to the playground fund?
Our deadline to meet our financial goal is Feb. 21. After that time we will finalize all of our plans and begin the next phase of the playground project. We anticipate full completion by fair time, July 18-24.
