Newton Police Department

• Jourdan L. Flake, 16, of Newton was charged with violation of a domestic no-contact order after authorities were dispatched at 5:59 p.m. Wednesday at 1420 N. Fourth Ave. E. in Newton for a report of a possible violation of a no-contact order. Flake stated she called the protected party’s phone several times in an attempt to make contact with her, according to police reports. She was referred to juvenile court services.

• Patrick W. Roberts, 26, of Newton was charged with public intoxication, second offense, after authorities were dispatched at 11:20 p.m. Thursday in reference to a male who was intoxicated. He was located in the 300 block of North Fourth Avenue East and showed signs of intoxication. He consented to sobriety tests and showed six of six clues for intoxication. A PBT indicated a BAC of .235. Roberts was transported to the Jasper County Jail.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. It is the policy of the Newton Daily News to release the names of individuals charged with a crime who are 16 and older.
