Cabin Fever Camp set for Dec. 30, 31

An outdoor winter Cabin Fever Camp is being offered by Jasper County Conservation from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 30 and 31 at Jacob Krumm Nature Preserve for students ages 10 to 14 years old. 

Students will explore the park, build outdoor shelters, cook a snack over the fire and, depending on weather conditions, go snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and ice fishing. 

Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather. There is a $5 fee per day, and registration is required.  Registration forms are available online at or at the Jasper County Conservation office at 1030 W. Second St. S. in Newton. Call (641) 792-9780 for more information.
