MARSHALLTOWN — MAT Tumbling/Trampoline recently held its annual state-wide tumbling and trampoline clinic, “A Day with the Judges.” in Marshalltown.

Over 100 coaches, athletes and their families attended from across the state of Iowa. Those that participated had the opportunity to complete their passes in front of the USAG/NTJA certified judges.

After performing their routines and various skills the athletes, their parents and coaches had the opportunity of discussing their tumbler’s/trampolinist passes and skills with the NTJC/USTA judges. Under normal circumstances the judges are not allowed to talk about the athlete’s pass during a regular competition, so this is a unique opportunity for all involved.

MAT coach Ron Brooks said the clinic offered fun and an excellent learning experience for athletes. Also parents, coaches, and judges attending learned more about the sport power tumbling and Olympic trampoline.
