Curious Newton residents filed into the old Cardinal Hills Golf Course Clubhouse on Saturday to see the property auctioned off. Daugherty Auction started the bidding for the 71-plus-acre property at $250,000 and the final bidder, William Talsma, won the property at $475,000. At the time of the purchase, Talsma was unprepared to disclose his plans for the property.
