Travelin’ Traffic Ace XVII

Brenda Malott of Newton, pictured with Lieutenant Wes Breckenridge, is the Newton Police Department’s Travelin’ Traffic Ace XVII grand prize winner from the traffic safety mug distribution. As a drawing winner, Malott received a package of donated prizes, including a family bowling party from Cardinal Lanes, two complimentary passes to the Capitol II Theater, a Worth the Weight T-shirt, two free buffets at Pizza Ranch, three free Taco John’s breakfast combo meals, three free Taco John’s combo meals, a free large pizza from Godfather’s Pizza, two free six-inch sandwiches at Subway and two free two-scoop sundaes from Culver’s. Malott was observed having safe and courteous driving skills, such as driving the speed limit and wearing a seatbelt, and received a travel mug as well as an opportunity to win a drawing for more prizes. The Travelin’ Traffic Ace campaign features police officers awarding travel mugs to drivers observe who display safe and courteous driving. The travel mug is refillable with free fountain soda pop provided by local participating businesses, and those who receive travel mugs are then eligible for the prize drawings. The campaign runs each summer from July to August.
