Eagles net conference victory

PELLA — Pella Christian’s Eagles notched a Little Hawkeye Conference win at home Tuesday. They defeated Oskaloosa in straight sets, 25-17, 25-11, 25-9.

The Eagles have won six matches in a row, improving to 8-11 overall. They are 1-2 in conference play.

Junior Christa Veenstra had a big night on the court for the Eagles. She delivered nine kills, had a solo block and three assisted blocks at the net. Veenstra served three acesand had four digs.

Logan De Graaf was a force at the net also. She put down nine kills, made a solo block, and had two block assists. De Graaf was second on the team with 13 digs on the night, and served one ace.

Alyssa Starkey was credited with 20 digs, and one service ace. Lauren Jungling had 14 set assists, three ace serves, four digs, and four kills. Abby Pleima put up 10 set assists, came up with five digs, and made two kills.

Racking up eight kills was Becca Gritters, and she had a stuff block. Gritters served two aces, and made five digs. Hannah Beltman downed five kills, and had solo block. Laura Nicholson was credited with a solo block and an assisted block. Julia Dykstra made eight digs.
