MOUNT AYR — Colfax-Mingo’s football team fell to 2-2 after losing its second straight district game on Friday night’s trip to Mount Ayr. The Tigerhawks were unable to mount much of any attack against the Raiders, falling 61-13.
This marks the second consecutive 40-plus point loss for Colfax-Mingo as they have sputtered out to an early 0-2 district record and must now travel to Ogden in what will be another difficult matchup for C-M.
Sophomore quarterback Jared Myers went 16-of-35 throwing the football for 204 yards and one touchdown. Blake Summy led the Tigerhawks with seven receptions for 98 yards. Jake Lietz had two catches for 32 yards. Sam Smith caught three balls for 28 yards. Nate Smith had two catches for 15 yards. Juan Gonzales had one 20-yard reception, and Tim Blood caught one ball, an 11-yard touchdown pass.
Smith had the team’s lead in tackles with 12. Lietz and Myers each had nine tackles. Nate Smith and Summy had eight apiece. Alan Wheeler picked up six tackles. Blood and Gabe Simpson had five.
Myers picked one off and returned it 39 yards for a touchdown. Brady DeJoode and Nate Smith each had fumble recoveries.
