Progress Industries is celebrating National Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week from Sept. 8 to 14 in an effort to honor those who provide daily support and training for people with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities.

Established in 1979, Progress Industries is a CARF (Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited non-profit agency that provides residential, vocational and day habilitation services to individuals with disabilities throughout central Iowa. The organization serves approximately 250 individuals with disabilities and employs close to 300 people, most of whom are direct support professionals.

“P.I.’s direct support employees are the front line of the organization’s success,” stated Dan Skokan, president and CEO for Progress Industries. “They provide training and support that is specific to the needs of the individual and vary from person to person depending on their abilities. We appreciate and thank our employees for their dedication to making a difference in the lives of those we serve.”
