Newton Police Department

• Tasha J. Leach, 19, of Newton was charged with violating a protective order after officers were dispatched at 2:19 p.m. July 22 to 1111 N. 11th Ave. E. on report of a violated protective order. Leach was the protected party in a protective order against Allan M. Phillips. Leach was released to appear in court.

• Allan M. Phillips, 21, of Newton was charged with violating a protective order after officers were dispatched at 2:19 p.m. July 22 to 1111 N. 11th Ave. E. on report of a violated protective order. The protected party, Tasha J. Leach, was also charged with violating the protective order. Phillips was released to appear in court.

• Clayton J. Stoehr, 28, of Newton was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after officers performed a routine traffic stop at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday at Iowa Speedway Drive and South 22nd Avenue East for expired registration. The officer discovered that Stoehr’s license was suspended and searched his vehicle. During the search, the officer found two marijuana pipes with burnt residue. Stoehr was placed in jail.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Office

• John A. Pool, 66, of Reynolds was charged with operating a motor vehicle after officers arrested him at 3:47 p.m. Wednesday in relation to a car accident that occurred at 9:08 p.m. April 19 on West 117th Street South in Prairie City. Pool was transported to Mercy Hospital. He has since been released from the hospital. Lab results indicate that his blood alcohol content level was .227 percent. He was placed in jail.
