The Jasper County Fair Parade took place in Colfax Monday night. Karen and Wayne Schlosser of Colfax, were selected as this year’s Grand Marshals. They were selected for their life long participation in 4-H and Jasper County youth. Karen served as a leader for the 4-H Cloverettes for over 20 years and also judged achievement shows. She has also served as the Jasper County Fair’s superintendent. Wayne also helped out on the fair grounds with general maintenance and anything else that needed to be done. Their grandchildren now participate in the fair as fourth generation 4-H members.
One of the largest and newest tractors traveled down the parade route in Colfax on Monday night. The Ingram family rolled out their 1923 Model T Ford truck as well. This vehicle was easily the oldest to travel down the streets of Colfax.
Members of the Colfax-Mingo Marching Band also traveled down the parade route. On the hot summer day, the marching band didn’t don their full attire, but instead some cool shorts and T-shirts.
