NPD launches Travelin’ Traffic Ace XVII

The Newton Police Department has announced its latest summer traffic safety mug campaign, Travelin’ Traffic Ace XVII — Safe & Sober, to award area motorists for displaying safe and courteous driving. The campaign runs through Aug. 26.

Officers will stop motorists after observing correct use of turn signals, driving the speed limit, wearing their seatbelts, full stops at stop signs/lights and displaying other safe and courteous driving. The motorist will receive a Travelin’ Traffic Ace XVII travel mug, which is refillable with free fountain soda from participating Newton businesses.

In addition, four drawings from the four distributions of traffic safety mugs will be held with the winner receiving prizes from several participating Newton businesses.
