Iowa State’s Saina wins 10,000 meter run

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Iowa State senior Betsy Saina won the women’s 10,000 meters in the NCAA outdoor track and field championships, finishing in 33 minutes, 8.85 seconds.

Arizona State’s Chelsea Cassulo won the women’s hammer with a throw of 226 feet, 9 inches; Mississippi’s Sam Kendricks took the pole vault at 18-8¼; TCU’s Lorraine Ugen won the women’s long jump at 22-2½; Georgia’s Freya Jones took the women’s javelin at 180-3; and Texas’ Ryan Crouser won the shot put at 66-7¾.
