Randy Dee Sutphin

Randy Dee Sutphin, 59, of Clifton Hill, passed away May 21, 2013, at his home. Randy was born Nov. 4, 1953 in Newton to Raymond Dale and Marian Joyce St. John Sutphin.

Randy was born and raised in Newton and moved to Missouri after retirement. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy as an aircraft mechanic on the USS Enterprise. On April 26, 2008, he married Angela Hess Sutphin in Moberly and she survives of the home.

Randy worked for Maytag Corporation for 30 years. During that time, he held several different positions within the company, including crane operator and truck driver towards the end of his career. He was a member of the VFW and  a lifelong member of the  United Auto Workers Union. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and he loved fixing things.

Preceding him in death are his father; brother Duane Sutphin; niece Tania Sutphin; nephew Michael Slea; and Grandma St. John.

He is survived by his wife, Angela; and his mother, Marian; brothers Tom Sutphin and Nancy of Renick, Danny Sutphin and Fran of Newton and sister Judy Sutphin of Newton; his children, Christopher Sutphin of Moberly, Derek Sutphin of Prairie City, Julie Smith and Jessica Smith, both of Clifton Hill; grandchildren, Bryant Ohnesorge of Moberly, Spencer Ohnesorge of Ottumwa, Victoria Sutphin of Huntsville, Mo., and Brianna Sutphin of Monroe.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly, Mo., with interment in the Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, with military honors. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
